1999 tacoma good or bad deal?

Im selling my silverado and im going to get another toyota, so i found a 1999 tacoma for 7000, its pretty nice it has a camburg LT kit, but im not too familiar with the 3.4's and it has almost 200,000 miles on it. is that high for a 3.4? the other setback is the truck is an automatic, im gonna offer the guy less, but do you guys think its a good deal? i dont want to have the 3.4 blow up on me

A little high, but it has LT so that can increase price.

The 2rz/3rzfe (2.4L/2.7L) and the 5vzfe (3.4L) are probably some of Toyotas BEST engines. IMO, better than the R family motors. I see a lot more Tacomas/3rd gen 4runners with 250K+ on original engines than I do pre-taco trucks and '95- 4runners.

The 2rz/3rzfe and the 5vzfe are by far the most reliable Toyota motors. the 3.4 yeilds more power stock for stock, but i believe the 3rzfe has more aftermarket selections. It's LC-engineerings most aftermarket selection motor right now besides the 22re.

On a side note, I have a co-worker who has a 96 tacoma with 400k on a 3.4 / 5 speed. Just do regular tune ups, timing belt changes, valve adjustments and oil changes and itll go forever.

I did a clutch job for a guy not too long ago that had 276K miles on the original 3.4L in his 4Runner.
Contrary, I've seen a few 3.4's blow pistons out of the block at 75-125K.

All in all though, with decent maintenance, the 3.4 is a really great engine.
