T100 SAS help....

I have a dana 44 i purchased from Extreme Gear Off Road. I am going to put it in my 95 T100 SR5 Xtra Cab. I am curious to what springs people use.
I want a 10 to 12 inch lift but i dont know what people have done to strengthen the front of a T100 frame since it will have to support the weight of the truck after the swap. Anyways any info and specs on springs and ideas on strengthening the front of the frame would be appreciated thank you.

10 - 12" lift? @_@ Careful with those parking lots at the mall man.

But as far as the SAS goes, You can probably put chevy springs up front to take the extra load. They won't give you 10-12" of unnecessary lift though. As far as 4Runners and pickups go there's really no frame strengthening involved...whether its IFS or SA the frame still holds the same weight. I'd assume its the same with the T100.

Hopefully someone more knowledgable on T100 SAS's can chime in.

Im not an offroad guy. I might go on a dirt road thats it. I like the way T100's look with a 10 to 12 inch lift and 39 inch tires, anyways.

The last two feet of the frame of a T100 is half the thickness as the rest. The thing is, the crossmember has to mount in this weak area of the frame, as do the springs. I guess I could just weld a solid piece of steel to reinforce the frame on the 2 foot section, idk.

8 inch chevy springs from skyjacker is the biggest they make. Superlift has a 10 and 12 inch leaf spring that is for a K10 or blazer during the late 70's.

Im curious to the length of springs others have used in the front of a T100 SAS. I am assuming 54 inch springs, but i was thinking it would be good to ask around and see what other are doing.

i was going to use 8 inch skyjacker springs, thinking that was a good place to start. I can always go up from there if i want to. Does anyone have pics of there T100's with SAS. I have found a lot of pics, but i cant contact the owners to ask what type of springs they use and the specs on the springs. Pictures are pointless without specs lmao. Anyways any info people have please throw it at m. Im a beginner in a lot of areas and everything helps!

If you're going to bump up to 39" tires you're going to need to regear which means two sets of ring/pinion gears and if you already have your diffs opened up you might as well install lockers.

Its really tough to go big in one area (tires for example) because you need to support it by beefing up/modifying other areas of the truck. Its like guys who work out their biceps and pecs at the gym and forget about their back. They don't move very well, look bad, and usually end up breaking themselves

I'd say before you dive into this and burn a bunch of cash, do some research. Everything that applies to 4Runners and pickups applies to the exact same to T100s. Look at other people's builds and problems, read up, ask specific questions if need be. Then when you have a detailed plan, post it up here and we can help you figure out if anything is missing or might need adjusting.

I have 5.29 gears in my rear allready, and the D44 has 5.29 gears as well. I dont want a locker, since I drive it on the street only, if at all. Lockers are loud!!! I have looked at many T100's........I cant seem to get a hold of anyone that owns them though!!

I will tell you everything I have bought in my room right now, and why I bought it so everyone that reads this will now.

1. D44 - with 5.29 gears. the axle is from Extreme Gear .com.

2. I have a set of 10 inch Superlift springs for the front that are 54 inches long.

3. I have 10 inch Superlift springs for the rear as well im not positive on the length, i know they are almost the exact same length of the T100 springs.

4. I have a set of SideBiter Mickey Thompson rims. 18X9 6 5.5. They have 39 inch Pittbull tires on them.

5. I have a Double Cardon CV driveshaft for the front. Would have back as well but I might change the rear axle to a Dana 60. thats down the road maybe if i have issues with my yota rear end.

6. I have a set of 4.88 gears for a toyota rear and chevy D44 but i didnt use them, since 5.29 should give me more street power with 39 inch tires.

Thats basically all i have at the moment except for some U-joints and little stuff like that.
I am curious to what height of springs people use on a SAS and the length. I have a set allready, as stated above, but I got them becaus they were on sale for 120 dollars and thats 70% off the normal price. I am curious to what other things im missing and issues i might run into. Im doing this all myself as well so I want to be extremely thorough.
Thanks again, and I have learned a lot when it comes to some thing about a T100, so if anyone has questions feel free to ask i love to learn and spread my knowledge! thanks!

Man, I can barely get my truck to move out of its own way with 5.29s and 32s. I'd love to see what the stopping distance would be with 39s on the street. At least you won't be running the stock front brakes (I hope). Those would warp in a matter of weeks.
