Rev Knob under glove box?

Dont know if this has been discussed before but i used search and couldnt come up with anything.
Anyways i was replacing my stereo yesterday and i noticed under the glove box there is a little knob that reads "REV High low" I turned it and nothing happened. What does this little knob do?

Thanks-Blake

That is called the "A/C Amplifier". What does it do? It sets the idle RPM below which the A/C is cut off.Works with the A/C idle up valve that normally boosts the idle speed when the A/C is running. Combination helps to keep the engine from bogging down at idle when the A/C compressor is running. All the above information is in the Factory Service Manual, A/C section.
