85 fuel & ebrake light stuck on**PICS**

I was driving in a pretty big rain storm when my e-brake light & fuel light came on together. Now they won't go out unless I take they key out. Any Ideas?

Update: I disconnected the battery to see if somehow the lights might reset, but it did not work...I don't seem to have any dimming of the lights or really any other symtoms of a faulty alternator, but I am still not rulling it out. I am adding some pics also.

thanks
joe

Didn't know there was a fuel light on the '85s, mine does not have one. But if e-brake and charge light, see below:

Well, I decided to flush the cooling system and change the coolant. While I was doing this I tried to start the truck and no joy. I pulled the alt. and it smelled burnt. I installed a new one and the lights on the dash went out and the truck started right up. No problems since.
