I think I'm going to just part it out

I've got a pretty nice toyota pu that I've spent the last two decades or so upgrading - it's gone about as far as a gen2 can go without getting the gas axe out and hacking off the suspension. It's really nice for an old girl that was designed in the 80s.
I'm ready to move on, next up is a Dodge Cummins Ram.

I just know when I go to sell the Toy peeps will be pointing to Kelly Blue Book and trying to tell me I should sell it to them for $4k or something ridiculous like that. Shoot, there's more than that in the armor, much less the driveline. Pretty sure I can get kbb for the motor alone.

So I thought I'd just part it out, right down to the last bolt and sensor. I put it together, I can take it apart. I've got an ebay account and a pretty girlfriend to hold the parts in pics and I know you guys are always hot for stuff like this. Seems like I ought to be able to get a whole lot more out of the toy by parting it.

So I'd like some advise from those of you who have come to this same conclusion and have taken their trucks apart and sold them bit by bit.

1. Is it worth it?
2. How do you figure out what to price all that stock stuff? Can I somehow get a list of prices that the junk yards would use for my make & model?
3. Which part does the title go with?
4. Anything else I need to know or think about?

Thanks in advance.

Title goes with the cab.

Check ebay for simmilar parts being sold for pricing

What are the specs on the truck? That will tell us if its worth it.

Oh joy, I found where I'd written this a few years ago:

I attached a quick spreadsheet of what a partout might look like - seems like a winner to me

1994 Toyota Xcab 4x4 pickup specifications.

Charcoal with gray interior.
140,000 miles.
SR5 package, power steering, brakes, windows, locks, mirrors. Factory sunroof, Sliding back window, Bucket seats, etc.
Clean southern truck with no rust.

Power
3VZE, built to the hilt. 3kmi
Balanced and blueprinted shortblock.
Ported, polished & gasket matched heads, intake and headers.
Custom Ground Cams
Oversize valves
Ceramic coated combustion chambers and piston tops.
Balanced injectors
K&N FPIC air filter system with new filter (less than a year / 5kmi old.)
NWOR headers & Y-pipe, ceramic coated inside and out.
Gibson Ø2.5” Cat Back Stainless Steel Exhaust - lifetime warranty.
Marlin Crawler Clutch
Jacobs Streetfighter Ignition
Toyota 5 speed. Stock.
Toyota Transfer Case. Stock.

New maintenance type stuff

Toyota NEW Power steering pump, less than 30kmi.
Toyota NEW Air conditioning pump, less than 25kmi.
Toyota NEW Water Pump , less than 30kmi.
Battery, less than 10kmi.
TPS, less than 1kmi.
O2, less than 1kmi.
Brakes Stock, OEM parts, new pads, rotors, shoes less than 10kmi. Front wheel bearings at the same time.

Differentials
Toyota’s V6 rear end with 4.88 gears and a TruTrac differential, all new bearings. Less than 10kmi on it.
Front with 4.88 Gears and TrueTrac diff.
Mile Marker Lockout Hubs. CV boots in good shape. If you don’t run them, they don’t wear and it’s had the Lockouts forever.

Suspension
NWOR Heavy Duty Torsion Bars
Rancho 2.5” rear springs (full spring kit, NO add a leaf.)
NWOR heavy duty front sway bar.
NWOR rear sway bar kit.
NWOR 4th brace in the front suspension - greatly strengthening it.
Rancho steering stabilizer
Rancho RS9000X adjustable shocks. Less than 10kmi.
Rancho in cab shock adjustment kit.

Armor.
Full Unlimited Engineering custom kit, front bumper, rear bumper, side bars and a roll bar (not installed due to the cap, but will come with the package.) These are not cosmetic. The ‘91 took a full size chevy nearly head on and sent the driver to the hospital and the truck to the bone yard, we drove the toy went to dinner. It needed some repairs, but the bumper was straight and true. It made the migration to the ‘94 without issue. Very strong stuff yet not heavy at all. The ‘94 gained only 200lbs when I put all this on.
There is a skid plate, but it runs a little cooler and I think gets better mileage without it. The skid will be included.

Body
2” body lift.
Lift Lips
Bushwacker fender flairs
Leer Cap with side opening windows it’s the best cap I’ve ever seen. New gas shocks.
Bug deflector
Window Deflectors
Paint is in very good shape, it’s got a couple dings, but I’d get the dent sucker guy out before selling.

Interior
6 channel aircraft EGT w/ oil temp and can be expanded into a 6 channel CHT also. $2000 piece of hardware and fantastic tuning aid.
Autometer O2 Gauge
Autometer Mechanical oil pressure gauge.
Autometer Mechanical water temp gauge.
Custom overhead consol.
Alpine premium stereo, w/ 6 disk changer and XM radio.
6 Premium speakers including 2 subwoufers. 2 Amps.
Husky liners.
Dynamat everywhere.

Front lighting
This system is fully integrated into the headlights such that with running lights the 60W Hella fog lamps turn on, switch the headlights on low and the fogs turn off and the 60W driving lights turn on, flip to high beams and the driving lights turn off and 100W Hella pencil beams turn on. This system keeps the alternator from being overloaded and works seamlessly with the stock headlight switch. This can be overridden by switches in the overhead consol.
Headlights are also Hella with high intensity Piaa H4 bulbs.

Wheels & Tires
Ø18x10” Custom wheels, black powder coated.
P305/60/18 Toyo Proxies.

SO, lets look at this logically.........

You spent countless man hours, sweat, and probably a little blood to build a one of a kind truck customized "just to your liking" truck and probably better than original... AND... now you want to part it out, and go buy a truck thats.... build the way the factory will think you like it..... and just like everyone else on the road???
Hmmmmm.....
I would say you have reached the point where there are no more wrenches to turn and you are getting bored....
SO........LOGICALLY SPEAKING.....
Go buy some OLD FORD and try and keep it running. It will eat or all your spare time and money, and it will save your Yota!

That's about right. I ran out of things to do on this years ago. I've had this body style for nearly 20 years now. I still like the look, but I'm ready to move on.

I want the Cummins because I want to switch to biodiesel and brew my own. ___ them rich azz Arabs.
Bio is better for the environment and it's made from trash. So I'm helping on both sides of the equation.
Plus the lubricity is higher than dino fuel so it's better for the engine.
And of course, instead of smelling like a stinky diesel truck it'll smell like french fries and fried shrimp.

Also I want/need some more room.
Don't worry, the dodge will get upgraded just like the toy did.

I've done the 'old ford' thing too.

heres an idea swap the 3vze for a cummins diesel then you can work on your toyota more and still get that frech fry smell. then for fun stretch the cab to make a four door extended cab. that should keep you busy for a while.

Sure it will. There's a guy on pirate that did it. All he needed to do was.... um.... cut the frame, and extend it 11" in the front.

well, why dont you just try to sell it on the market for what you want for it, and see if theres any takers? I can personally tell you that if i had the money, i would buy it and i'd probably be willing to pay at least 7000, obviously your truck is worth more than KBB. just put it on the market, and guarenteed anybody who knows whats good for them will pay what you want for it.

So did we ever find out what happened to this rig? Way to pretty to part out IMO, but you'll probably end up getting way more money for it by parting it out then selling it straight up....

It amazes me that you can dump 10k into a rig yet it'll only be worth half that as a whole, yet you can sell each part individually and almost break even, or even sometimes make a profit....almost sickining if you Ask me
