Harbor Freight 12v dual horn kit
The horn in my Tacoma wasn't working. After verifying that the horn itself was the issue, I picked up a dual 12v horn kit from Harbor Freight for 9.99+tax.
In addition to some flimsy but adequate mounting brackets, a relay, and the necessary hardware, the kit comes with two horns: one high and one low tone horn.
Due to their size, only one will fit in the factory location. I went with the low horn.
Here's a video that demonstrates the sound. Better than not having a horn but not that great either.

For $10 and change I would do it again. Someday I'll be getting OBA and a train horn

i picked up a set of dual denso (all toyota) landcruiser horns at a pic a part.
custom mounts and relay, sounds like an air horn.
my stock horn was one of those meep meep sickly sounding horns.

Every time I go to harbor freight I always look at those horns LOL!. That sounds a lot better than the meep meep roadrunner horn. I'll pick one up this coming weekend. Thanks for the demo. Like to also hear what the LC horns sound like.

I should mention that it isn't entirely plug and play, but it's easy enough anyone can do it - getting the grille off is the hardest part.
I did have to crimp a spade connector onto the factory horn wire and make a ground cable which was simply a wire with a spade connector on one end and bare wire on the other end, which gets tucked under the bolt onto the core support.
I can't stand the meep meep factory horn. This one isn't super macho but it's passable...and much better than not having one at all.
