22re engine miss

'93 model p/u, 22re 2wd, 5 spd., 230,000 miles has developed engine miss recently. Occurs between 2500-3000 rpm in any gear. Idles and runs perfect up to that speed, then gets better at higher rpm but does not completely go away. New head and timing set 5000 miles ago. New injectors, fuel filter, plugs, cap, rotor, Toyota wires, throttle position sensor, O2 sensor, air flow meter. Plug gap and timing are correct. Disconnected aftermarket tach, not the problem. Disconnected vacuum hose to EGR valve and drove it, problem still exists. Anyone have any ideas on this one? Thanks in advance.

A buddy had the exact same problem. Turned out to be a gasket between the EGR valve. Its a metal ring thats probably a dealer only item. He was able to pound it out slightly and re-use it. Post back if it works. Good luck!

Well, I'll check that out. I did install all new gaskets at the time of the head rebuild, but I'll check anyway to make sure. Thanks.
