Per the info at:
and
- http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/...ireChart.shtml
Probably need in the order of 2"-4" of total lift to clear 33s, depending on width of the tire (narroer is easier to fit) and width/offset of the wheel (narrower/less offset is easier to fit).
Here is a writeup on a '96 w/ 2"-3" suspension lift and a 1" body lift:

hey bro. I Just called maximum altitude by my house and they said I needed a 3in body lift to fit 33's? I told them i had a 2.5 revtek suspension. They also said $799 installed? does that sound right?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Sounds like you need to find a shop more familiar with Toyotas... Post up on the TX chapter of TTORA's forum (www.ttora.com)
Note that width causes WAY more problems than height. You should be able to fit the 255/85-16 without much problem, and they'll fit nice on your existing (I'm assuming 7" or 8" wide) rims. This size tire (about 33x10.50) works GREAT on our trucks.

I saw that place while driving south on 35 tonight. It seems to cater to Jeeps and Chevy's alot more than Toyota's. If you're willing to take the risk, I might be able to help a bit.

Lifted 96: I would just get a 2" body lift from 4crawler and install it yourself. I just installed a 1" Body lift on my 1998 4runner and it was very easy. I am 16 and I have never even changed oil before, so Go for it. Just read through the body lift instructions and make youself familiar with everything your going to do, then its a piece of cake.

why don't you look into 32x11.50s? If you haven't thought about it, they would be bigger and easier to fit.
From the looks of your pics, I assume you have a 31x12.50 or something like that?
Have you looked at some pics of 33x10.50s?

I'd be willing to take the risk by the way. maximum also does HUGE ford lifts. but you're right, they dont do much toyotas.

I have 31x10.5. I Just love the look of wide tires. I hate skinny tires. so I thought if I could fit 33x12.5 w a body lift then i'd be golden.
