Thermostat?

Is there any difference in performance or possible harm to the motor if the thermostat is not installed? Thanks

Your fan won't turn on unless you hardwire it, and your heat won't work right either.

Can I ask why you would want to do so? I new thermostat from Toyota only runs about $15.

haha I'm a dumb a$$...sorry i was looking at electric fans when I wrote that reply. Ya but the only thing it would probably affect would be your heat, your engine wouldn't heat up as quick, due to the coolant always flowing through the radiator. Might affect your engine performance as well, but I'm not sure on that one.

On an EFI engine, you may not reach proper operating temperature. If so, the ECU will keep the fuel mixture richer in order to warm up the engine. Could result in less fuel economy.

Thank you all for the replies, I had posted questions on how to set the throttle position sensor, well, when I took the thermostat hose and housing off to adjust the sensor, I noticed the thermostat was not there..I had a new cylinder head replaced, they didnt put the thermostat back..so, what is recommended, I know there are different temp T-Stats, again, thanks for the help.
