Talked with mechanic about new u-joints & he said mine might be "staked"...

I called up a mechanic about putting new u-joints in my 1984 22r 2wd long bed. He said my ujoints might be "staked" and if that were the case he would need to replace the whole driveline if he was going to put new u joints in.

Is this even true, and would my '84 use the staked method rather than clips?

I am looking into new u joints because if a clicking noise underneath my truck. Here is a video: http://bit.ly/g8GE8f

ok put the truck in neutral take pressure off of the drive shaft block the car. move the drive shaft back in forth if there is play. and by that I mean does one side of the drive shaft move or have a clink or any movement. Its vary easy to check yourself
