looking to upgrade front shocks. what have you guys found that are great streetable shocks but great off-road? open to anything i just want the best ride, i searched but couldn't find any good info. i prolly over-looked somethings though...

Stay away from pro-comp. Have them on the front of my truck, and ranch rs5000's in the rear, and i can't wait to get them off. On minor bumps, they work marginally better than my blown 12 year old stock shocks. Anything bigger than a dead rabbit in the road, and you feel it in your teeth...

Having said that, i've installed quite a few sets of rancho's. I'm looking to try and get a full set of rs9000's under my truck. My little bro has a set of 9000's on the front of his tacoma, and he love's them. The nice thing about them is their tunable, so you can set them to a comfort level that works best for you.

i just have the rancho 5000 up front and some oem style ones in the rear from my buddies taco. the ranchos are nice on and off road. im gonna get the rears real soon to match the front

I agree, I wasted money on them and they rode no better than my wore out original equipment. I have had a set of bilsteins that rode nice on and off road.

I just put on some Rancho 9000's a month ago I like them alot only because they are adjustable. they have 9 setings and I run mine on 5 in the front and 4 in the back on the street and it is smooth.For off road I bump both up 2 clicks.

They go for about 100 a piece.

I've no complaints with the ProComps myself. Yea, they ride like a truck on road and to "my" satisfaction, they buffer the springs pretty well off. Buy what you can afford is the rule. Anythings better than OEM

I have Ranchos in the rear and love them, some-what smooth on the road and let the axel flex like a mother ****er. stock in the front needs to change.....

Which Procomp's did you get fog? Mine are ES1000's, and I've heard from alot of people that if your gonna get procomp's, spend the money and get one of the higher up models like the ES9000's or the MX-6's.
