MSD Ignition

So I know this is kinda a stupid question, but what does an aftermarket ignition do for you? Is there another element that is works better when the upgrade is made?
Call me stupid, cause I dont know much

I've got the Summit (mallery makes it I believe) jst a newer generation, digital. MSD is analog. I think it gives a little more low end torque, a little. For the price not worth it in my book.

You'd probably get more from an electric fan but in saying that I'd go with the Tuarus or other actually OEM over an aftermarket like flexolite. JMHO or $0.02 if you will.

MSD = multi spark discharge. you get multiple sparks vs a single spark.
only better if the rest of the system is taking advantage of it.

It would be best to find a whole bunch of reviews of people who have used MSD before making your choice. MSD is good for vehicles otherwise why would classic car builders use MSD for their ignition for many years now? Similar to K&N, it is all on how it is used and abused.

I jacked up a tow strap pulling a samuri off a mountain trail when his die. He didn't install it and had no idea how to bypass it. Said he'd replace my strap but didn't.

I'll say yes but not much and from my experience I'd say put the money elsewhere. You just not going to get the gains they claim.

I'm running summit ignition box, accel hi volt coil, 8mm wires, forget spark gap though.
