The other day I decided to spin the wheels in my truck and I noticed that both spin the same amount, so I got to thinking do I have a locker? Is there anyway to tell if I have one? It looks like the third member has been removed before.

Put one rear tire on something really slippery, like ice. Then floor it. If you stay put, you don't have a locker. if you move, then you might..

Jack up the whole rear axle, spin the tires, if both spin the SAME direction, you got a locker. If different, open.

Jack up the rear end. Spin one tire. If they both spin the same direction, you have some kind of traction aiding device. Such as a locker.

I just jacked up the rear in, but no traction aiding device. I guess I just got lucky

I've only drove the truck in 2wd for about 2 miles combined. When I bought the truck it didn't have a rear driveshaft so I just drove it in 4wd without the rear for about 1000 miles until front end was shot.

My truck would do that in the wet when taking off from a stoplight. I guess if the traction/weight is equal over the tires, both will spin.. for a second
