has any on ever tried using the compass/clinometer/clock cluster in the new fjs for gauges in there tacomas? i was looking in my wifes fj last night and it seemed like the holes would be pretty close to 2 1/16 gauge. i thought if you get it painted to match this would look pretty good. just a thought.

Try it....but you better have a good explanation for the wife if you yank hers out! I know I would have to have one! HA....


The only thing I would question would be the set up of the compass. My dealer did it before we purchased...I know the instructions are in the manual...but is it hooked to the computer in anyway would be my question? Also the temp sensor...

the inclinometer would work though....

Yes, on the compass I do not know if it is tied to the ECU PC, maybe it is all built in, but it does need to be calibrated.

If the compass setting are tied into the compass only, you could get it to work.

I have the FSM at home on DVD, I could search in it to let you know how it is all wired in.

first off i apologize for not being more clear. i want to use just the cluster itself and insert a water temp/oil pressure/volt meter where the clino/compass/clock are located in the fj. i just want to use the cluster as a gauge pod for the gauges i mentioned above. sorry about that.
