chevy spring swap - sky manufacturing kit???
Ok, here is another one of those chevy spring questions. I have searched the faq on pirate and here and have found nothing about the kit from sky manufacturing. So i was wondering what type of lift you should get from the kit using 2wd leaves. I only want 2 or three inches of lift, so would the chevy leaves and kit provide about that?

yes indeed, just wrapped my swap up today, with the sky kit...used 2500 Suburban springs tho, only using 3 leaves, no overload...probably around 3"s of lift

i used springs from a half ton chev and i got about 5" of lift... guess i was a little more saggy than you guys.
sounds like you'll get three from stock but with sag working against you the height may vary

You dont have to, but in my springs the bolts were seized...so in the end I needed new bushings...and its cheaper to go polyurethane, stock bushings at Auto Zone and Advance Auto were 80 bucks for the set, I ended up paying 60 bucks on poly ones through Summit.

I just finished my Chebby spring swap yesterday, on my 87 4Runner. I got the SKY Kit. The Cheby springs I got from the salvage yard were in great shape, so I saved 75 and kept the stock bushings... its a job to get those stockers out anyhow!!
The only disappointment was SKY packed the wrong quantities/sizes of bolts, and some where too long. So, I had to waste time with a whack-saw, and trips to the hardware store to get the proper hardware.... you'd think they could....
Otherwise, the hardware provided in the kit: hangers, bushings, shackles are adequate.
I used springs from a 1500 series truck, and retained the stock chevy overload. That really keeps a lot of "push" with that setup, and it gave me 4-5" of lift, more than I wanted, so I'll be pulling that overload leaf OUT, and replacing it with something thinner.
The Chebbies are 3" wide, slightly wider than the stock Yota springs, so you will either have to grind a mm out of the inside of your U-bolts, or do like I did, get a new set made up. There goes another 50-100 bucks. And, your tailpipe will probably have to be slightly re-routed.

Did you use the right ones in the right places? The kit does come with 1/2" and 9/16" bolts. I also had to drill out the front hanger to 9/16" to fit the bolt as said in the description on their site.
