after market fuel tank?
can i put an after market fuel tank in my truck? i just picked up a 95 sr5 and i been having vapor lock with it after its been running and going back to start it, it takes a few cranks to get it started.
After getting some gas today i noticed a lot of gas smell coming from under the truck. i got under there reached up to see if it was leaking and my hand fell into the gas... i pulled my hand back coverd in gas. the rust hole must be atleast 5-6 inches wide.
so my question is: can i put an after market fuel tank in, like a 22 gallon summit fuel cell? with an after market fuel pump?
i tried finding one at the local junk yards but no one has one around here. there are only a few around town anyways. and i cant afford a new one. =( any help is greatly!! appreciated!

I have an RCI cell in mine with an external pump, works pretty good.
Mine is a 15 gal, but I'm lucky to get 12 in it. The 22 gal (or bigger even) would be a good choice to maintain your current range.

s10 2 door blazer will fit where the spare tire goes. hangs down 3 inches passed the frame. if turned around the filler can be located on the passenger side ( normally on drive side.) fuel pump will work with our tubing however the gas gage will read completely backwards. which can be fixed pretty easy.
the tank holds 20 gallons.
i have almost all my pieces ready for my install on the 4runner.
just have to get the time to get it all installed

My cell has a GM sender and the Toyota gage reads "E" (for Enough) until you get to about 1/2 tank, then drops like a rock to "F" (for Fill 'er up)

No - I had it done by a shop.
There are several downsides to my setup. Unless you 'wheel hard and greatly prize ground clearance, there are better ways to go. Especially if you have emissions inspection in your area.
