Other than upgrade the knuckles to 6 shooters, ARP studs, or a 5th stud with ARPS... trunion eliminator kits or the marlin bigger bearing kit...
those beef up the axle itsself but for internals, longs are as strong as you can get.
honestly with a 22re duals and longs, chromos in the back, wouldnt worry about it. we're talking king of the hammers style wheeling to break em, or just bad luck.

So just to let you know, upgrading the Toyota axles is expensive. I was going the same route as you with my front axle, adding everything up and just realized that it is to freakin' expensive. Add in the fact that you can upgrade internal parts and add 6 shooters and all that and it still won't keep your axle housing from getting bent. I don't know what size tires you are planning on running but if you plan on going big and wheeling it, I would suggest tons. Building the front Toyota axle is pretty much the same price as a D60, and I just picked up a complete 14B for $50.

I was just using that picture to I guess over exaggerate my point, regardless bent axle housings still can happen without jumping and so do failed trunnion bearings. I am not saying that it will happen, but if I spent all that money on my Toyota axles and something broke, I would be disappointed.
I guess I just have that 1 ton fever now and trying to spread it around, that whole misery loves company thing.

Yeah but not everyone wants to be full width. Honestly I wouldn't go over a 37/38 on any axle as wide as a toy. You're getting to tall for the width regardless of axle. IMO.

Well im definetly going to stick with toyota axles. Ive already got a built front axle and a stock rear. ill probably just replace the stock parts in the rear when they break. So what does everyone think about doing a 3.4 liter swap out of a tocoma

Thats what ive been hearing. Everyone that owns them seem to like them alot. I hear the 3.4 has a lot more power and is much more machanicly sound than the earlyer v6 (3.0) i have had two 3.0's and I was able to get over 300000 on one and 200000 on another but I dumped the second one in a pond and put a hole through the block so it could have lasted a lot longer. Do people usually get that many miles on the 3.4?
