1990 Runner Lift Cost

I have a 90 runner that I want to lift. Can someone offer recommendations on the best cost effective way. Plan to lift about 2-3 inches

Sawzall and bigger tires is the most cost-effective. And if you do it right it don't look half bad

Check out this link, lots of good info:

For super cheap, do a body lift. For an inexpensive and functional lift, go with ball joint spacers and rear lift springs.

If you put together your own kit it can be done very inexpensively - I lifted my 90 4runner about 3.5in for under $450 with ball joint spacers and land cruiser coils (plus brakelines, shocks, and a panhard drop bracket).

Then I later made and installed a 1in body lift for basically free - its really up to you what you want to spend.

Do your research, you'll find a ton of great info here

BTW - Welcome to yotatech!

There are a lot of things to consider before doing a lift:
1. What size tires you want
2. What the vehicle will be used for/overall goal
3. Do you want to trim/hammer?
4. Mechanical ability, i.e. do you have the skill to install the lift?
5. For whatever size tire you want, will you have to regear?
6. How much money you're willing to spend.

That being said, its tough for us to give you suggestions if we don't know your goal.

There are literally thousands of threads on here about IFS lifts.

The most cost effective way is to get a stick of UHMW Polypropylene and cut it and drill it to make a body lift and then get all the hardware from your local hardware store. However, once you get past 2" of body lift, you start running into having to adjust other things to make it all work and it's just a big pain IMO.
