1989 Toyota 4Runner Dash, Blinkers, Wipers, etc ALL stopped working at SAME TIME!
Hey guys im new to the Forum and as a member but have been creeping around the site as a guest now for quite sometime. So after work tonight at about 11 PM i got in my 1989 Toyota 4Runner (Sr5, 3.ohno, 5 spd) and its raining so i go to turn on the wipers and i get nothing, so like anyone else would do i started freaking out.. Then checked blinkers and nothing, same went for the Tach, Oil Pressure, Volt and Temp gauges. All fuses looked good too. Ive searched on here and other sites and can not come up with anything. Any help would be appreciated, and if there is a thread already started or related to my problems please direct me.
Thanks in advance

Check the fuses under the hood...re-check all fuses, even pull them out and look them over. Then start looking at using a multimeter and checking to see if you have voltage to your fuse box. Also, give it a little time to dry out, may have gotten some water into it somewhere causing the short. Check all your ground connections as well.

Well just went out there today to start rechecking all fuses, etc and now everything seems to be back to normal. Dont know if water got into somewhere causing a short like tarded said but thanks for the help

Not sure if it has one but look to see if there is an ignition switch. Had this exact problem with an old Jeep Cherokee i used to have. Might have shorted out, or could have came slightly unplugged. Hope you figure it out and let us know what the problem was if you do.

hey guys i figured it out! turns out it was a plug that goes into the transmission there were 2 wires that go into it and one of them was stripped and fried the reason it took so long to find was because its tucked up on top of the tranny but its all fixed now and i havent had any more issues. thanks for all the helpful input!
