1983 Yota Engine Swap

I'm wanting to swap out the engine that i have in the 83 Yota PU i have right now. It's a 22R and it's old, 4 spd as well. But i am wanting to replace it with a 350 Chevy and 5 spd. How hard would this be, and what kind of modding will needed to be done?

Also take a look at this post.

its hard but doable with basic knowlege ur talkin either a body lift or hood scoop possible fire wall cutting and rebuilding dshafts being made if your wanting to run a toy tranny and case advance adaptors sells the bellhousing snd everything there is also northwest offroad they sell motor mounts bellhousings clutches pretty much your pref id go with advance tho...your also gonna need a conversion harness made to power everything i make conversion harnesses for swaps like yours with minimal to no splicing and heatschrink wrapping or e tape whichever is prefered my prices range from 400 to 600 if you supply both harness jus depends on wether your doin the vortech (550 to 600) or carb'd (450 to 500) let me kno if you need one made up

carbed you could get away with the cowl hood to clear the air cleaner theirs mixed opinions on the bl persionally id run at least a 2" to keep your engine compartment cooler but with the carb 350 ur def gonna have some firewall work

I'm planning on putting a cowl on it for sure.

First i thought about dropping a 289 in it. But i seen and heard one with a 350 and i almost drooled.

You are trying to turn a pigs ear into a silk purse... You could not have picked a harder platform to start with...

B.A said get a 4WD frame, and outfit it to your hearts desire...

Then, just swap the cab over and wire...
