The problem finding a part is because your 4runner is so new. Do you have a warrenty for the 4runner from the factory. That would be your best bet.

Well, I assumed that any 4th gen axle would work - 2003+. Searching for a 2004 4runner and a 2008 on NAPA yields the same part # for both vehicles.
I do still have it under warranty - the full info is that I disconnected the sway bar before wheeling and didn't get it out of the way enough and it tore up the boot. Not exactly a warranty repair. I suppose I could play dumb and just take it to the dealer, though that doesn't sit well with me. Last edited by rlabbe; 08-07-2009 at 07:41 PM. |

Okay, I have a line on a rebuilt one so I should be good. Still, if anyone knows of a reliable source it'd be great to know. It's usually wise to carry a spare on the trail, but at $500 for a dealer version it's not exactly trivial to do.
