Anyone with a newer lifted Tacoma (2005+)

I've had my 06 TRD Tacoma 4x4 for a couple years now, put 35,000 on the tires, they're sort of getting to the point of being done, so it might be time to replace them before I move back to Tahoe next month.

I was debating going bigger for better clearance and a more aggressive tread. Has anyone done a 3" to 4" lift on your Tacoma?

Any issues?
How's the MPG?
How big a tire did you go to?
Anything you'd do different?
Can I run a bigger tire (32", 33") on the stock rims?

I have got an '05 taco with a daystar spacer lift (not the way to go IMO) I run 285's on Ultra Rims with 4" BS and rub the body mount periodically at full lock and compression. I have got a set of studded 285's mounted on the stock TRD Rim that I run during the winter. The BS spacing is not enough with the stock rims (4.5" I think) I get get a lot of rubbing on the stock UCA when running those rims. If you lift I would consider different rims though a lot of folks seem to be fine with them, they may have upgraded their UCA's and using a Coil lift vs. spacer probably nets better clearance....

MPG is not too bad, about 17 MPG combined, it is a truck not a PRius

I'm waiting for my Skyjacker 3" lift to arrive. Mine will be all new springs, shocks, and struts. Unfortunately, Skyjacker is out of the struts right now and I have to wait on them to make them.

The way I figure it, I need new tires. But I eventually want to lift it and go with bigger tires, and don't want to buy new ones now, then buy them again later to get a size that matches the lift. So I went ahead and ordered the lift.

Might as well do it all at once.

2.5" Lift Bilstein 5100's & Alcan AAL's on 32" Cooper STT's
I should have gone with 33's.
No issues... I normally get ty MPG anyways... I get about 15mpg.

We had to get some more lug nuts for the special rims the owner purchased but should have pics by the end of the week I hope. The lift looks great!

'05 with Daystar 'leveling kit' upfront, AAL rear, hopefully to be replaced with OME's. 285's on 4" BS rims, rub on the front body mount at full lock and compression
