Where to get parts for my 87 4runner?
Hey everyone,
So i've been to just about every pull a part yard around here (San Bernardino area) and i've had no luck finding any 1st gen 4runners or pickups with parts i need. So my question to you guys is where are you guys finding parts that are decent and reasonably priced? Here's a short list of things i'm looking for if anyone has em or knows where to get em:
-Passenger door shell
-Passenger side view mirror
-front corner/parking lights
-rear bumper
-tail light lens
-a/c condenser
I'd prefer to get oem on some of these if possible just because i hate the way aftermarket parts fit, unless someone knows of a website or something with actual decent products unlike autozone which seems to be pretty pricey for the crap they give you. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you try RockAuto? Pretty good prices, and pretty easy to shop.
Did you try a "regular" salvage yard, rather than a "pull a part" yard? Some parts (lights, bumpers) are a little more valuable and it's worth someone's while to take them off. I was able to find a fender with corner lights here in Oakland.
I was not able to find a bumper, and I'm not surprised. Vehicles don't often end up in the junk yard after 20 years without having run into something very hard. I did get a pretty good deal on a new after-market bumper and valence from a salvage yard; fit better than any pulled part would, and I'm happy with it.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply scope! I checked out RockAuto. They have a lot of stuff! and by "regular" do you mean places where they pull parts for you? if so, i tried a few but they seem to be a lil nuts on prices for "used" parts. Found a place like that selling a door shell with some damage on it for like $200.... to me that seems like quite a bit of money for a door with damage.

Try car-part.com... The website is a bit clunky to use, but it will show you local parts at junkyards in your area. That's where I found a color matched bed for my 92 pickup.

I second car-part. I was able to find a complete tailgate assembly with the glass local to me. It was the only one within hundreds of miles and turned out to be in perfect shape.
I've also used craigslist for some doors and a top. You might try eBay for OEM lights and lenses.
If your wallet can handle it, alot of this stuff is still available from Toyota too.
