Where do you store you're highlift?
putting sliders on my 4runner this weekend and getting a highlift to along with them. just wanted to see where you guys store your highlift when it's not being used. i don't have anything on my roof to mount it to so that's kinda out of the question. lets see some pics.
TIA,
Tim

If you have the factory roof rack with crossbars mount it up there. I'll take a pic of mine tonight and post it up.. It cost about $8 for the parts from ACE Hardware and took about an hour to do the installation and reassembly. its nice and solid, and I'm embarrassed to say, but I got the idea from a Hummer webpage .

here's the link. I didn't follow his design exactly, but it was a good starting point.

I saw a guy in a Wrangler the other day with a hi-lift mounted on his hood. I didn't think it seemed like a good idea since it could become a flying projectile in a crash lol.

Like Axle pointed out, I see you have an ARB bumper.
Here is my Hi-Lift on the ARB.
I use to have it on the roof, I like the weight distribution much better up front.
For these I used 1 7/8" rings and the Hi-Lift mounts from www.fourtreks.com

you could use the D-hooks in the storage compartment of the truck and make a couple loops of rope with a hook so you could easily snap and un snap hilift. just a though.

Or use a ratchet style tie-down between the D-hooks to hold it down. The use of the ratchet allows you to attach the hooks and then tighten the crap out of it. I did this with a tool box that I have in the back and it is not going anywhere.
