Yesterday I went on 125 mile round trip where about 50 miles were paved, 45 miles were dirt roads in various condition and 30 miles of trail. There were a lot of rocks and some good rock-climbing challenge areas.

On Friday night I torqued all of the hub nuts to 23 ft-lbs (spec is 18-25 ft-lbs). This morning I checked the torque on those same nuts and 11 of 12 moved at 13-15 ft-lbs. and the other was at 18 ft-lbs.

Now I am curious to see if there is a simple fix or if these will go away. I torqued them again to 23 ft-lbs and used blue loctite. I also used a paint pen across the nut & stud end to more easily see if they have moved.

For me, having to use loctite is not a big deal if that's all it takes. Next step would be locking nuts as mentioned by wyoming9 above...again, no big deal. If neither of these fix the problem, they are gone.

Isn't it funny the one gripe we have on our factory hubs is what makes them better then any other hubs available for our trucks. lol.
