Toy truck compatibility
if this needs to be in the fab forum instead of here, will the mods move it; however I think there is a ton of knowledge in here to tap.
I know I asked this before, and yes I have searched, but does anyone have a link or anything to show what model truck/bed's fit on other frame's without a ton of work. I would be willing to move the mounts, I dont consider that a ton of work(if they just have to be cut, moved, and rewelded). A ton of work to me would be fabbing new mounts because you cant simply cut and paste the old ones, for a lack of better words.
Ultimatly, the underlying reason for the info is that I have a 94 single cab short bed frame/axles/some drivetrain and I want to put a can on it. I just dont know which ones can be put on without too much effort. I currently have a line on a 2wd extended cab body(93) --

I think all the beds/cabs are easly swappable if they are matching models
long box, ex cab.. etc.
2wd dosnt matter.. I think, might have to cut a bigger openeing in the floor for the t-case shifter..

I think 2wd have different front fenders....
I screwed up in my original post saying it was a single cab - I am looking at putting an extended cab cab onto the single cab frame i have. It will be a flat bed either way...

Yes, the only thing different body wise is:
Fenders, grille,bumper and valance
As for your question I belive you would just have to cut some mounts off of a junker or somthing.
It MIGHT be doable but since your truck is a single cab short box the frame is very short.

I remember reading a post somewhere where someone did exactly what you are asking about. They put an ext cab on a sngl cab frame and then bobbed the bed. It actually looked pretty cool. I would post the link but I really don't remember which forum it was on.
You should be able to tell if the mounts are the same pretty quickly with a simple tape measure.

Thanks for the info- I haven't been able to find too much on swapping cabs -- I thought more people were doing it
I need to find someone with an extended cab so I can look at the 2 side by side
