Throttle upon cold (warm) start up? (22RE)

So, how do you start up your engine? Is it ok to give 1/2 or 1/4 of throttle during ignition? Or should it start without it regardless of cold (warm) weather?

In my experience, it should start without any additional throttle. Thats what the cold start injector is for.

There was a post not to long ago with the page from the owners manual. You can also get this off the toyota web site, but for a 95 or 96 year, I've linked to it before. Some helpful search terms would be "owners manual" "starting" or "shift schedule"

P.S. mine just fires right up once the fuel hits the rail
