Summer plans.
Well, now that i've managed to get a job where i work part time but still 25-35 hours a week at 7.25, i'm thinking about what i want to do with my little ole 93.
I'm probably gonna take a week off to work on it non stop near the end of summer, so far this is what i'm thinking about.
Headers, probably from lce.
Cam, not sure where yet.
Exhaust, local exhaust shop.
Battery/intake relocation, just swapping sides so the travel is shorter and not over the radiator.
timing chain kit, oil change, and a new head gasket while im at it.
I'm thinking i'll be able to do most of this at home. But if any one has any suggestions on where a better place to get parts, or any tools or tricks i'll need, i'd love some input guys.
I'd love it if you guys left your thoughts. i'll be back on tonight after work, and i'm off tomorrow. I'll be on when i can after that. Thanks guys.

headers: try doug thorley headers. they cost about the same as lce ones, and are awesome for low-end torque (p/n 555y, ceramic-coated is 555y-c)

Yea i would focus on tuning your pickup up. Yea that extra few hps are great. But considering you wont have cash during the year to change plugs, and oil i would take advantage of it now.
Im in the same boat. "well kinda" i finally have enough cash to fix the needed stuff on my pickup. Like water leaks and exhaust leaks. But i may have enought left over to build a custom front bumper.

Well, i have yet to get my first pay check because they hold my first one. But that means the one i get this monday will be around 500. half goes to savings, so 250$ to get me started. I'll start ordering parts and putting them somewhere safe, and at the end of summer if i have everything, i'll take a week off and get everything done. I've already got battery cables, so i shouldn't have to buy much wire. Current estimate for everything is ~822$
Might be awhile, since on average every week i'll have 80$ left over. 80*10=800, so about 10 weeks. Which means 9 more.

don't go full-synthetic. it'll seep through black rtv and create minor leaks that'll drive you nuts. conventional is what i use (i tried synthetic a few times) and the engine runs extremely smooth and turns over quickly.

nope. full synthetic is better for faster revs, which these trucks don't do. you'll be more than fine with a good quality conventional. hell, i'm running some of valvoline's 50/50 new/recycled mix, and it's working great.
as for exhaust, be warned: you get what you pay for. just sayin'

I used to run castrol syntec blend in all my vehicles. They had lower miles than my toyota and still leaked around the valve cover and oil pan.
I run castrol GTX in my truck now, but there has been a few times i had to put chevron oil or valvoline in there and there wasnt any differnce. If i was going to rebuild the engine i would run it on synthetic.

I've been using Shell Rotella 5W40 synthetic for about 50K miles in my truck and it hasn't caused any leaks or any other negative side effects. A gallon jug is about $20 at Wal Mart.
