After having the parts for over 1 year easy I decided to finish the snorkel install yesterday and remove the 'temporary' PVC pipe install with the engine swap.
While making the tubing I found a local Landrover dealer who had cyclone filters in stock with the exact dimensions my piping consist off, so a cyclone was fitted.
And naturaly the K&N with box had to go.
All piping is 3".

I have no idea if the cyclonefilter has benifits over a K&N, I guess I'll find out in a while.

the benefit of the cylcone type filter is that heavier particles get thrown away from the intake tube to the engine by centrifugal force.
not sure how it works on a truck, but I know they work pretty damn well on John Deere and Case tractors. I used to work driving a service truck when I was barely out of high school and those things would accumulate 1" or more of dust within a week. I can only imagine what the paper filter would look like after 250 hours of use without the cyclone filter.

and you can pretty it up with a light inside that makes it look like a lantern.

If you don't mind me asking where in Holland do you live my aunt lives in groningen one uncle and my grandmother lives in nijmegen and my other uncle & aunt lives in Utrecht as my cousins I have no clue they seem to move a lot.

I spent most of my trips in nijmegen as a kid and teen, some pretty nice country side out there.

every time you post up pics it gives me flash backs of how fun it was spending the summers in Holland and how the neighborhoods look the somewhat the same every where in Holland.

Yeah does anybody know any good site's that i can buy my snorkler from. I'm trying to find one for my 88 toyota 4runner. just let me know if you know any site's thanks.-myers504

Limburg, the southern part between Germany and Belgium.
Looks somewhat similar to Nijmegen cause it's not completely flat here like the rest of Holland.

That's easy. The air gets sucked in via some angled shaped ventholes underneath the filter, creating a vortex inside the box. (You can actually hear this when the engine picks up revs)
Heavy particals like dust get thrown to the outside due to the centrifugal force and fall down.
There's a line on the housing to give the max. height of the accumulated dust (that's why it's transparent).
As soon as the box is 'full' you remove the cover, remove the cone, hold it upside down to remove dust and put it al back together again.
Attleast that's the theory.





I heard of some people putting in some thick engine oil (where the dust collects) to prevent particels from getting sucked up again but I think I'll be leaving it all stock for now.
