my runner caught on fire!!!

I just finished rebuilding the 22re in my '86 4runner only to find out I've got a tiny gas leak. Well in search of the the leak all the gas that came out of the leak caught on fire. It pretty much engulfed my front end, but thanks to quick thinking, there isn't too much damage, just a few vacumm lines and my wiring harness (wan't in the best shape to begin with). Does anyone know if you can buy the wiring harness or can I just make one myself? Any input is appreciated, thank you

Uhhhhggg that had to suck!!!!!

I hear the harness from the dealer is over $400. I would keep an eye on the forums like TOR http://bb.tennesseeoffroad.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi, Here, TTORA, Pirate etc. Watch for part outs. I know DRM on TOR was parting several trucks recently. Might look for him on that above link. He posts most of his forsale there and some on Pirate4x4. http://www.4x4spot.com/ is his home page but he hasn't updated his forsale section in a while.

For plug and play it will have to come out of a 85 or 86. If its any newer you need to get the ECM, Injectors and all related parts especially the silver box on the passenger fender (injector resistor box) and part of the dash harness.

Oh man, that almost happened to me the first time I started up after my swap. Fuel was spraying out of a high pressure line fitting right next to the exhaust manifold and I didn't know until there was a big puddle of gas under the truck. Very lucky.

You should be able to find a used harness. That would be easier than making one.

grim reaper, do you know what else beside ecm and injectors i'd have to replace if I couldnt get one from an 86? Am i gonna need a whole new intake or will the newer injectors fit? also I thought the '85s were carbeurated, would that make a difference in the harness?
I'll try and get some pics but I'm technoligically challenged and I'm already half-way through taking all the burnt parts off (got the use of a sandblaster to make most of it nice and shiney again). Thanks for the input some of those threads were what I needed.
