Finally installed a gauge pillar in my truck. I ordered it from LC Engineering, I don't have the part number at the moment.

I have heard many horror stories about removing the stock pillar cover. It really isn't that bad, I had it off in under 1 minute. Here is how it clips in there.

A little force with a straight screwdriver and it popped right out.



The bottom of the stock pillar is hooked into the body with this. Just lift up and it slides right out.

Installation begins, I had to drill two small holes into my truck body to mount the new pillar.

Looks sharp! I bought a similar pillar here last year and love it. It came gray already to match my interior - nice perk. I have a water, oil pressure, and crappy A/F gauge (hoping to replace with vacuum like you have some day).

Now all you need is an SR5 cluster

Nice work!

PS - I had to use some small lag screws to mount it too - wish there were a "prettier" way but...

Thanks for sharing man. I am surprised LC hasn't come up with a cleaner way to install it. Not really feeling the exposed screws. That's nothing on you, just their design.

The local hardware store should have the little button tops that cover up the screws

The pillar came with some covers for the screws, so now all you see are some black buttons where the screws are, you hardly notice them.
