How long to replace a 3.0 in a 94 4runner?

Can anyone tell me what the manual says it will take time wise to remove a 3.0 and replace it please?

Thanks!

Michael

unbolt.. bolt up.

I dont think there is a certain time to replace an engine. I know Toyota rebuilt and installed my engine in a day or two (hg recall). It will probibly take a few days at least. If you are experianced in this aspect of cars.

Take your time, don't rush it.
take tons of pictures of the engine bay for refrence.

it took me about two months working about 2 hours per week. sounds inefficient but that's all i could afford to do at that time.

You can do it properly in a weekend with the right equipment, a friend, and know how. And with YT you know you'll find the answers to all those little missteps along the way. Best way to find out is try, buy a case of mountain dew and tell everyone you're busy for the weekend!

Guys, what I'm looking for is what the book says it will take, so my crew and I can estimate how long it will take us.

Of course none of you (who replied above) actually answered the gentleman's question.

In the two books that I have one calls for 8 hours and the other 12 hours.

pays 12 hours on a stick shift truck 4x4, took two days in the shop for the one we recently had, the guy had never touched a toyota V5, it should only take about 6-8 hours of real work to do the job if you know what you are doing, if not, plan on a full weekend, start on a friday night so you can still buy little parts you may need so you dont get stuck on a sunday night looking for some stupid part that holds you up.

So you're going to do a swap and you don't have a manual, nor have you looked at one of the many which are online to read about the procedure before considering it... I guess I should have read the question a little better before replying. sorry
