Fuel problems

Okay people I need some suggestions. !988 3.0 rebuild. First I got it back together and had oil presure problem. New oil pump was bad. Now that that problem has bee solved. I have the motor back in and everything seems to be checking out alright but no fuel. I have good fire to the plugs, checked the relay inside the left kick panel and it's operating the solenoid resistor checks out . Is ther anything I should check before dropping the tank to check out pump. Thanks

Do you have the AFM connected and the tubing in place? The flap door in the AFM turns on the fuel pump as air is sucked through it.

Yeah, without the connection to the TB the AFM flap won't get sucked open to turn on the fuel pump. 11th commandment: Thou shall have no air leaks between the AFM and the engine.

Still have problems. This a 1988 4x4 truck 3.0 I've done more checking and don't think I'm getting juice to the fuel pump all the wiring looks fine. What else should I be checking I feel like it's something obvious. Please help

Try the fuel pump test jumper or open the flap in the AFM with the ignition on:

All fuses good but inside the driver side kick panel there is a black box that has several wires going to it but there is an orange wire with a inline fuse coming from the box connected to nothing any idea. Thanks

See what ya'll think. I've tried everything that's been suggested. If I hook a hot wire direct from battery to hot leg on fuel pump will it hurt anything.
Thanks

Well, that would make the FP run all the time. It can be dangerious if you get in a wreck or something to have the fuel pump running with the engine off. When my engine swap was first completed I had a wiring issue that ran the pump anytime the key was on, I drove like that for a while before it was corrected. The unused fuel just gets returned to the tank by way of the fuel return line, unless there is a failure of the system somewhere.

If that does get it going you might want to check to see if someone has installed a fuel cutoff switch somewhere that you don't know about.
