By lockers wyoming9 was probably referring to locking differentials and not the Automatic Disconnecting Differential (ADD) or manual hubs. Here is an example. Toyota makes an e-locker for Tacomas and some 4runners for added traction. Have you reconnected the 4WD light switch or are you still running with it disconnected and still blowing the EFI fuse?

Hop onto techinfo.toyota.com and download all the EWD's for your truck. You pay for a 2 day subscription. From there you can see all the wires related to 4wd.

no, i think what i did before was disconnect the reverse light. when i get the time to work on it again i'm gonna find the right plug to pull and test the wires with a multimeter, someone else told me to do a Continuity test. i'm trying to wait atm since i'm out of income until december, thankfully the rest of the truck runs, I replaced the starter and it works fine now and the oil gauge works too now, the sender wasn't connected, must have rattled loose

I've seen several cases where somebody installed a stereo and just looked for the closest wire with 12 volts or ground to use in the installation. This can cause havoc in other systems. I'd look at all the stereo wiring carefully.....maybe take it all out and wire it correctly. Good luck.

I actually think this may be the problem, i pulled the stereo out so i could look behind it and it just looks like a mess back there, just a terrible job, open wires and crap. i'll post a pic soon and show, still gonna test the wires on the transfer case too now that i got a reader
