drop in 3rds

im gonna get a marlin crawler drop in 3rd. reason of that is it would be cheaper to buy that with a locker then to buy gears, lockers and have it set up. but form what i can tell marlin only makes them for the rear. does anybody know where to get a drop in 3rd for the front?with 5.29s and preferably lockrite locker. ive been searching for a while now and cant find crap. or if anyone has one for sell i may be interested in ti in about 2-4 months

try http://www.trail-gear.com/toy-diffs.html
http://www.davezoffroadperformance.com/
those are some off the top of my head

marlin has them here: http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/diff/pickup_diff.htm
the v6 third mounts front or rear (7.5" Ring gear) your IFS front is a 7.5
--call Marlin though to verify...

or you could also try contacting Zuk at http://gearinstalls.com/ he installs gears for people..just ship him your third

I take it this is for the '95 in your sig?

check around your local wheeling clubs. There are a few guys around the pacific Northwest that charge $150-200 for set up on each third. Just provide the parts...disadvantage is no real warranty...

As far as I know, nobody offers a complete built front IFS diff in the aftermarket.

I would look on CL for somebody who is unloading their parts after a SAS. Or buy a cheap 4.10 front diff, get your gears and lockers, get them set and install it yourself!

Nope

I extended the LSPV like you mentioned, and that was it. It was nice to have brakes again

If I were you, I'd buy the gears for the front, reuse your front diff, get someone to set up the gears, then install the locker yourself. Resetting the backlash is pretty easy and that's all you need to do when installing a locker.

With spider gear replacements (Aussie, Lock Right EZ, Locker), you can just replicate the existing BL, with an ARB or Detroit, you need a dial indicator. With the ARB, you need to set up the air line as well. The BL isn't hard at all, and the air line routing look too difficult either.

I have an empty rear third (with used bearings, i think they are good), and a good front third, with 4.30 gears. I would sell the rear for $100 and the front for $125. I would have to check on shipping. If you like I can ship them directly to whom ever you would have set them up. I think Zuk charges around $150 for setup and there is a company on pirate that is about the same. If you are having one set up , I have heard that Aussie is a better locker than lock right, but they only have it for the 4 cyl, so you would want to use 4 cyl gears. I think the only difference is the 4 cyl has 2 spider gears adn the 6 has four, and I think the locker replaces those anyway. But you will want to research that.

With a 2" AAL I would extend it 2" The LSPV mounts to the frame and to the axle, so a body lift doesnt change the angle at all.

I had actually made mine a little longer then I should have. Because of the bigger tires I had found my braking was pretty bad. So I lifted my lspv about .5" over stock, so the truck thinks its loaded down partially now.
I have working rear ABS so im not worried about the tires locking up.

Check TrailGear and Randy's R&P for good prices on built thirdmembers for the rear too!
