Dash Gauges, Short?

I have a 94 22re 4x4 5spd, 1 month ago i went though a puddle it was a little deeper then i expected, i was going to fast and the people following said their was a 16ft splash when i hit the water. Everything was fine until i got to a gas station. Got back in started it and gauges worked for about 5 seconds then everything quit. Only thing that works on the dash is the emergency brake light and the 4wd light everything else is dead also the a/c and fan control have stopped working. The 10amp fuse was blown on the driver side kick panel that controls the gauges. Replaced it and everything seemed to by fine. I took the truck to work no problems, it wasn't until i restarted that the 10amp fuse blew again?

All i had was a 15amp, i went ahead and installed it, everything has been fine for three weeks until this morning and it blew again. Where would be a good place to find the short that causing the fuse to blow?

Did you get water in the cab when you had this little mishap??

I also take it you mean the gauges do not work but the lights for the gauges still work??

This is one of those things could be just chance and be unrelated to the water adventure.

Something worked loose shorts to ground when it gets in the correct position.

loose connection arcs drawing enough current to open the fuse.

I have seen the Reverse Light cause issues a few times. The connector rubs the transmission and causes the guages not to work. This is just a random fix that you can check. Other wise I have to find out what circuit it is on and start following each wire one at a time.

Check the wires at the back up light switch or the switch itself.

The gauge fuse powers the back up lights

Put a fuse in shift to reverse see if it opens
