and...
I have really seen a difference since I have started working on this 1992 runner.
the thorley ceramic headers are beautiful and totally solid. I got a killer deal combining them with the jardine exhaust (call thorley direct and ask about this package), and all this with a K&N, ISR mod soon, magnaflow muffler and free-flow cat, has made the runner SOUND GREAT! a whole lot more power...
in my opinion it is now totally viable, super awesome vehicle, and I really enjoy tweaking and working on the engine. you are in for an adventure- enjoy!!

next in line is boring the throttle and portmatching the upper intake manifold at LCengineering...
I am still debating whether to put in a jacobs ignition...I have it and know it will add power but worried about reliability...sorry just thinking out loud!

You should do cams before you do the plenum.... contact Weasy2k here on the forum. should be around 400 bones and at LEAST 15-20RWHP. The only mod that adds hp more cheaply is a turbo or nitrous...and cams are way way way less difficult to put in this engine than to setup a GOOD turbo or nitrous system....

I like working on my 3vze too, sure itll never equal even a bare bones GM goodwrench 5.7L smallblock, but damn it, it's still fun to work on!

I bought a set of headers from NWOR. Other than being a PITA to install I like them. I have had no problems with heat or cooking my starter. I can't say that I notice any power gains from them as I had installed a new crate motor at the same time but I do think they helped. Behind the hedders is a stock catalitic converter and a flowmaster with larger piping. I like the sound and performance I get from them.

I would stay with the stock exhaust studs rather than use the bolts tat come with the headers.

Downey ,no problems, but it killed my low end torque.Although they made up for it at higher RPM.
