I'm going to wreak yard in the am and was wondering if I could use the brake booster/master cylinder, the calipers, and rotors from a 96 4x4, v6, non abs t100. I saw lots of people talking about 95s but not 96.

I have 87 4Runner 4wd, 4cyl, auto soon to be swapped, sr5. Thanks for any help.

Myself I would never put any important parts from a T100 in any of my Toyota`s unless it was for a trip to the scrap yard.

Working on one was enough to cure me T100 parts are few and far between.

At least in this part of the country .

If you really want to up grade your brakes go for the Tundra upgrade down side is you need to go to the 16" or larger wheels to clear the bigger calipers.

I have 33 inch tires and a hissing brake booster. So I was looking to just get some braking power back. I can't do the tundra upgrade cause I have 15 inch rims. Dang it. So you had bad t100 experiences?

The T100 is just so different with only a few production years .

About the only Common Parts are in the engine .

I don`t think I ever saw one in the Yards .

The Auto parts stores list parts for the T100 but stock nothing The dealer was the best parts source.When parts did show up 75% of the time they did not fit.

Even the dealer was several days just to get front brake parts I can`t recall just what.

Things could very well be different in other areas of the country .

From my notes on things to do to my 4runner I see that I have on the list swap in 95 T100 calipers and rotors with a link to another forum and thread that I probably shouldn't link to here. It says that these can be swapped in and the only modification is grinding the backing plates a little for caliper clearance. Would you like me to add more info from my notes here?

i'm running one of the big diameter dual brake boosters from a t100, it's a good upgrade, don't remember the year of truck it came out of tho.

there are basically three choices for our toyota trucks, and those t100 large diameter dual diaphram boosters are the way to go... it's only a problem if you have an early truck, the big booster might hit the steering column shaft.

i upgraded everything up front, fj80(?) master and bigger rotors/calipers, but kept the drum brakes in back.

you could probably do just the booster, if nothing else... i had to take out the spacer plate on the firewall side, because i wasn't getting enough pedal travel... it's real irritating to have to pull the booster you just put in, to remove that spacer! fortunately i was able to do it without removing the master cylinder, just carefully bent it back slightly.
