Question ANYONE recognize this piece?

I guess this is a heat insulator panel that was removed a long time ago when I was working on my transmission, but I cant figure out where it goes. I have looked pretty hard and am about to give up. I cant even find it in any schematics....
Anyway heres some pictures:

yep .. bolts onto the drivers side frame rail

Goes right under the steering column. just move it around till you find the matching holes

IIRC, that covers the end of the torsion bar to protect it from the exhaust pipe heat. Bolts to inside of frame rail.

haha... I just took mine off to paint my exhaust manifold (I didn't like the rust look and I wanted to get away from the family during thanksgiving week). I painted that part too. it should have 3 bolts that go directly into the frame where the other people said. it is kinda tricky to position it. I always thought it protected the tire from the heat though.
