95 toy pickup 2wd to 4wd help?

i have a 95 toyota pickup 2wd with a strong 22re, i believe my pickup has a w55, what are my options with turning it to a 4x4.
w56-e are harder to come by
r150f are easier to come by
is it true that a r150f can fit on a 22re but only with 22tre bellhousing?
sorry if i missed the answer on the search engine but couldn't find it.
thanx.

You know you need a whole front end, right? Control arm set-up is different, spindles, fenders, everything. I'll have to check the specs page, but the mounting tabs for all that may mean frame stubs from cross member forward. A lot of work.

If you are wanting to keep your truck IFS then it would be way easier and much smarter to swap your stuff over to a 4wd frame. If your wanting a SA then you have a good setup. Just gotta do a SAS on it.

I can tell you this much: the 2wd trucks do not have the same crossmember as the 4wd. You must cut out the 2wd crossmember then replace it with a 4wd one. Drilling and tapping the frame is required. The R150 trans ( may be named wrong ) came in both v6 trucks and 4cyl turbo. It's is adaptable to a 22re by changing the Bellhousing. The marlin website has great info on this. You can also use any other trans that is bolted to a 22r or re engine. For example G52 or W56. One other thing to keep in mind is you must cut out the floor board for shifter relocation.

Hope this helps

R150 = V6/Turbo 2WD
R150F = V6 4WD
R151F = Turbo 4WD

Sorry for the quick Hijack,

Hey Mudhippy, would a '96 bumper bolt to a '94 front end?
