93 22re engine squeal
Have been searching threads and cant quiet diagnose my problem. I have a 1993 pickup with a 22re. I know I need a new clutch kit because when I press my clutch in, it grinds and then goes away when I let it out. But I have been hearing a squeal from the front of the engine. It only does at idle. And if I touch the gas it goes away. Somedays it doesn't make noise at all. Could it be bad belts? Idler pulley? It only does it at idle. Thanks

Yes.
But the most common cause is a belt slipping. Check first to see if they're tight enough, then examine the bearing surface for "shiny" spots. If you see a shiny spot, replace the belt, no matter how tight/loose it is.
