im just going to drop the tank and clean it out with superdegreaser, it evaporates quickly and cleans gunk and built up grease really well, it shouldnt hurt anything. but make sure to remove the sensors and fuel pump before just to be safe.

mine has flashed a code maybe 3 sperate times, but only when it gets really bad, and it's only done it offroad.
i've been wanting to replace the o2, but it's $80. i guess i need to get used to not driving a chevy. the o2 in my s10 was $20!

ive only seen my check engine light once, i replaced the o2 sensor and the temp sensor (the temp sensor is in line with the o2, so if the temp sensor is bad the 02 wont read correctly) neither have helped

if you have a voltmeter and a chilton maitenence manual they show a procedure you can go through to check if your o2 sensor is still good. also when i pulled the temp sensor it was corroded and helped increase my milage but didnt fix the sluggishness...

What codes did it throw? Not sure what you mean when you say your O2 and temp sensors are in-line. I don't recall them being physically wired together. In fact, the ECM pinout shows each having a separate lead.

What were the CODES (yes plural, cause I think you have more than one) from the ECU? Either that or you've already pulled the codes and it said O2 rich/lean and you automagically thought that the O2 was bad?
Check your wiring diagrams

im just quoting what three mechanics told me. i went to my toyota dealer and even their mech told me if im having trouble with the o2 i need to change the temp sensor at the same time, thats why i said they are "in line" i dont know why i would have to change both but thats what they told me.
uh... it flashed the CEL... and just by what you said, you don't know what the code was. Just because it's running poorly you think it's the O2?

The temp sensor (whether for the gauge or ECU) is NOT inline with the O2 and neither will cause the other to read bad.
