92 pickup cel code 24 and 25
Okay so i have a 92 pickup with the 3vzfe, im having some issues with power. i get an intermittent cel with random power surges. i feels like its in limp mode. i just tested the resistance on the intake temp sensor and it was fine. i replaced the engine from another truck with the same motor. we forgot about the knock sensor when we put the engine in so we bolted it to the head instead of taking the intake and everything off so i dont know if that would cause it. i am getting pretty bad mileage currently. i realize this is very bad grammar but im typing it on my phone and its a p.i.t.a. but any help would be much appreciated. i will awnser any question you have.

Code 24 says there is a short or open in the intake temp sensor circuit. You've tested the sensor itself, now you've got to find the cause of the code. I'd start by measuring the resistance from the THA connector on the VAF. (to see if it is open or short) Then visually inspect the wire back to the ECM.
If the knock sensor is not properly connected, the ECM should retard the timing far enough to feel like limp mode. There are some on this forum who regularly suggest "re-locating" the knock sensor like you did, but if it would work bolted to the head why did Toyota (and every other manufacturer) bother putting it where they did?
Good luck!
