3VZE with no fuel at start-up HELP
Hey Folks, I'm having a big problem with my 88 3.0 4x4 p/u. For the last few days with some colder weather, she won't start. I've tested the CSI and it appears to be working properly. I think that the fuel injectors are not working as I crank the engine. By using starting fluid I got it to fire and run immediately. It starts and runs perfectly the rest of the day. I suspect that when it restarts, it is firing off on fuel that is in the cylinders at shut down. After sitting over night that residual fuel is evaporated. Is there a rpm related sensor that tells the ECU when to fire the injectors?? I may be way off in my reasoning. If anyone has any ideas about this I'd sure appreciate it!
Thanks,DD

Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it! I ohm tested the CSI and it fell within the range. I also removed it and turned the engine over. I got a good spray into a bottle for about four seconds. That seemed like a reasonable amount of time. But, I just don't know. Thanks again.

Cold Starting issues.
...type in "Cold Start" in search, very common problem especially now that it's getting colder outside (see "cold start '91 P/U"). My suggestion is if you've removed your Cold Start Injector and you're getting good spray, get yourself a can of carb cleaner and spray a bottle into the hole that the Injector goes into, don't skimp. I had the same problem, purchased both the Injector and the Injector Timer ($300), same problem, did the carb cleaner, it starts every time, first crank (...I wish I would have done that first, allot cheaper). Carbon build up around the injector in the intake manifold... Give it a try and let us know if it works.
