ATF is good for un-flooding engines, particularly Mazda rotaries. It's also an easy way to get a well-worn engine to start, as worn rotary engines don't seal for squat at low (starter-spun) RPMs.

When you pour ATF down the intake, warn your neighbors. You'll be fogging up the entire neighborhood when it burns up.

doing hot valve lash adjustments suck i wish they were more like hondas and meant to be done cold.
if you EVER hear a "quiet" 22re i would be very weary of the person selling it. reason is that i have heard a quiet one that on inspection there was no valve lash (spacing) in there at all. they were claiming that it was recently rebuilt. ha, no joke.
