Well Engine is DEAD
Well for all the leak repair i did last week was usless and a waste of money as the head gasket died a terrible death yesterday. Was driving, got hot and stopped. then restarted but runs terrible. looked at oil and its a milk shake. Soo Now its a rebuild for me. I cant afford a new engine so will rebuild mine. Im gonna get a gasket set and maybe a bearing set from engine builder. which is not to expensive. Any opinions or any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening and have a great day. Sharon

buy a new head, I ended up buying a used head and having it machiend locally. It was almost as much as a new head. I should have bought a new one, but didn't think it would cost as much as it did to machine a used one.

Well engine is torn down and good news
Well we have the engine all tore apart and not nearly as bad as i thought.
The pistons are spotless and the valves are too. The bearings are all intact and everything except the head gasket itself looks great. Gonna check the head tommorow and make sure its not warped.
If it is i will buy a new head. Other wise im gonna just clean everything and i got a gasket set from engbuilder so will put it all together with new head bolts and gaskets and a few other things and we will see how it runs. Its got 300,000 miles and looks almost brand new inside. amazing. The head gasket only blew near the rear cylinder and didnt do any damage that i could find. Will let ya know how it goes. Ps i have rebuilt engines before so i know what im doing.
I wanted to rebuild the whole thing so would be new but boyfreind gave me a hard time so doing it his way which means only minimum work and fix only what is really bad off.
. easier to do what he wants then fight. even though im doing the work myself.
Have a great day and thanks for the tips. Sharon

Engine Is ALIVE
Well its all back together and runs great. When we took it apart we saw that it has been timed wrong by whoever did it before i got the truck so we timed it correctly. and i have more power now. i can over the mountain at 50 or 60 instead of 30.
The rest of the engine was spotless when i took it apart which is amazing for 300,000. So hopefully another 300,000.
No leaks and running good except still getting a bit warm. New radiator, thermostat and all new hoses. New head gasket and such. Well ill figure it out yet. Only timed by ear so might be a slight bit off so gonna do it with the timing light see if thats the cause.
Lets see now i want to do the body and brakes and anything else and ill have a new truck LMAO!!!
Im so happy its back on the road and i did it myself. My BF is telling everyone he did it. He only helped with the exhaust manifold and that was because he said i put the bolts on wrong LOL! i didnt know you could do that unless you cross threaded em which i didnt do. ???? Oh well those that matter know i did it myself. Thanks for listening and ill post pics as soon as i learn how. I made a short video while i had it apart. Sharon:jessica:
