va 85 4runner rebuild
My little brother let this sit in the shop for to long, So I took ownership and now plan on rebuilding it. I found a guy who had a 85 automatic 4runner sitting in his yard who let me have the roof, doors, rear top, fenders, interior and other things for $250.00
This is how it sits now. We welded the new roof on this last sunday. It came out pretty good all the doors fit tight and close easly. I just hope there isnt a problem with the wind sheild.
Door Gap
Good Side
I like the quater window doors better. I think the PO put new doors on the truck. They were electric and 1 peice windows.

Wishing it was ready to run.

Nice, the only thing is those thornbirds are going to suck at everything!!! I have never heard a good thing about them!!! Cept maybe sand traction!! But it looks good.
Why are you doing all this rust anyway?? roll over? rust?

The truck was rolled somethime in the late 80's early 90's and the roof skin, left quater, and some other small body parts were replaced. We discovered the left side of the truck by the wheel wells was formed with body filler and fiberglass so be decided to cut it all out and fix it right, which lead to the quater panel being removed. The roof was never done properly and rusted really bad around the rain gutters so I took over the project and decided to weld a new roof on. I read the samething about the thornbirds but I will be using the truck most of the time on the beach fishing in nc and hunting.

I haven't touched this truck sense February of last year. Tomorrow I will be slapping the left quarter on and applying some body filler to areas that need it. Just to refresh my memory. For 35x14.50's would 456 gear be appropriate? I hope to have this thing finished by the end of March I need to get it out of my shop!
