Alright... I put some new springs on truck today and when i went to tighten up the u bolts one of the nuts was messed up and ruined the threads and stripped out one of the u bolts. the question I have is will a rear u bolt fit the left front axle(drivers side). I measured them and i think there the same width ID and legnth as the rear if i measured correctly(2 3/8 ish" W x 6" L i think). Trying to find one sqaure u bolt is near impossible at any auto part store so im thinking about hitting the junk yard and I need to know if a rear u bolt on an IFS truck or 4 runners is the same as SA trucks?

buy new ones....either at Napa or if you want good ones go to National Spring in Santee.

Ummm...yeah, an 84 is a second gen truck right?. Same rear axle as a second gen 86+ IFS truck or first gen 4Runner right? Why wouldn't they have the same u-bolts?

Sorry not trying to be a smartass here. However, I am 100% sure that they are the same.

When I went to NAPA to get me some they tried to sell me the other kind(round-type). They said the didn't have square ones. Hell...I had to help the guy find the ones they did have, so maybe they do have 'em there somewhere I couldn't see. The guys at my local NAPA are a bunch of nimrods though. That's how it works 9 out of 10 times when I go there for parts.

Anyhow, the junkyard had mine. $5 for a set in good shape.

yea i figured they were the same but wasnt a 100% sure... If i dont find what i need at the junkyard Im off to the spring shops in Esconghetto. Napa doesnt NOT have them BTW... ive already checked
