More pics...$1K for an 85 22re truck that runs is a good deal, let alone an SR5, good find.

Nice find. What are your plans for it? Being California, no rust, you got a great deal all the way around.

here are some more pics. so far the ride has really not impressed me compared to my Blazeland equipped 1988 pickup.... It will one day be a nice trail rig! By the way she has clean title, fully smog legal. Has a roll cage with 4 point harness.

thats funny that you mentioned ride quality , my 85 4runner rides like almost like a fork lift , but I think my shocks are shot and my front leaf springs are original and are flat and not to far from the bump stops , any ideas on how to get a better ride

i think get the body all straight, go through all the suspension and change all the driveline fluids. then prep the body and have it sprayed flat army green or maybe a forest or desert camoflage? what do you guys think?

so I took our new '85 rig for its maiden voyage to pilot rock trail in the san bernardino mountains. Overall i was impressed with how a solid axle rig behaved on off camber situations. On the other hand, when it came to faster sections of the trail, it rode just about the same as a Radio Flyer! My '88 rig thats equipped with the Blazeland LT rides like a cadillac compared to the solid axle configured rig.

Ride quality in a solid front axle truck leaves a lot to be desired...spring swaps seem to help a bit. My 83 feels like driving around in a tank sometimes.

if your front springs are worn out and reversed up a little past flat, you will have no up travel.
a small lift, (like 2") with a little positive arch will make a huge difference.

You didn't mention the miles on the odometer! Something like 446,000 wasn't it?
