fuel tanks?

I need to know if toyota used an 19 gallon gas tank in most yrs and what style it is.
My truck was sitting for 8 yrs so the tank internals were rusted I tried to use them but it didn't pan out.
I have been looking for that tank in a wrecked truck. but I can only find x cabs and short beds and they all seem to be 17 gallon tanks same for runners too.
I have looked through as many post and threads as I can find and nothing comes up. direct me if you know something or if you have the internals for a 19 gallon tank for an 85 long bed sr5. brand new ones are not cheap. please help

Ive never heard of toyotas having a 19 gallon tank, the biggest tank ive heard of is 17 gallons. Try looking at www.partstrain.com for a new tank, there not that expensive.

The '89+ Xtra cab pickups had a 19 gallon tank as I recall, it was longer than the SWB tanks to allow the extra volume.

the 19.4 gallon came only on the rare longbeds that you and I have. you will not find one in a the wrecking yard as the longbeds are not common. to let you know the sending unit that was used in the 19.4 gallon tank is the same unit they use in the 17 gallon tank. So when your warning light comes on you still have 3 gallons in the tank. if you have any more questions just pm me

thanks guys but I only need the hanger for the fuel pump and sending unit .
my tank is ok. wierd I know it didn't rust up like the hanger.
and the hanger is about $250 new if you can find one.
the hangers are different between the 17 and 19 gallon tanks as I have a 17 gallon tank(used parts) and the hanger is too long.
I thought about shortening the hanger but I was told it won't work right if I do.
I was hoping to find the right parts instead of modifying as I want to restore this truck back to stock.

well I have looked everywhere for the hanger for a 19 gallon tank with no luck finding anything so we are going to cut the one I picked up with the 17 gallon(wrong)tank and modify the hanger.
I am going to cut it at the flange then install bulkhead fittings on the flange and then braze the tubes to the fittings after I remove about 2.25 inches off the hanger and tubes.
on the out side I am going to have a hose made to tie the bulkhead fittings which are sae to the stock metric fuel line.
if anyone has ever done this or might know a better way feel free to post I am up for something easier. I will try to get some pics as I do this just in case someone else ends up in this situation.

I had to modify my hanger when I went from a 15 to a 17 gallon tank. Mine was too short so I added in a new section. Everything works fine.

I say just shorten yours up, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

update: I pulled the hanger out of the replacement tank and I need to bend the hanger over about 2 1/2 inches and make it 1 3/8" up as that is how much longer the hanger is out of the newer tank.
the hanger has a curve in it the length of it so I am going to have it bent by a professional so it keeps the curve as that is where I need to mount the fuel pump.
I am hoping to get some pictures up and a description with the pics so incase some one else experiences all this fun they will know what to do (or not do) to fix this issue

update:I finally got around to fixing the fuel pump bracket.
The hanger for the fuel pump used to be straight it happened to be the right length to bend and make it fit.
the feed line was cut and brazed back on but after we did it we found out that the feed tube needed to be flexable to get the hanger back into the tank so I cut it short and added a longer piece of fuel line.
The return line was also cut, bent and brazed back on. it ended up being more work than originally thought but not that difficult.
I just didn't have all the tools I needed to get it done so I had too rely on other people to help me so it took alot longer than expected.
